The Vampire Diaries was originally said to be returning on the 8th of September 2011. We now have confirmation from an official press release however that it will in fact be returning to The CW on the 15th of September 2011 at 8/7c.
The Vampire Diaries will also be followed by a new CW tv series called The Secret Circlewhich is also based on books by Vampire Diaries writer L.J. Smith.
